Broken, Open, & Unborn: Teachings & Practices of the Heart of Awakening
Lama Karma Justin Wall Retreat
From 10 am until 4:00 pm
At Urban Dharma
29 Page Avenue, Asheville, NC 28806, USA
The heart-mind of awakening, or bodhicitta, is the core of the Buddhist path. It is also both the ground & fruition of enlightened awareness. In this 2 day seminar, Lama Karma will give teachings & lead practices on how to connect with & open the heart, drawing from the Buddhist traditions of sutra & tantra, as well as Western psychology. Participants will explore their relationship to their own awakened heart in a very direct & personal way, situating their experience within the broader framework of the ever-present & loving nature of enlightened mind itself.
Lama Karma completed 2 three-year, three-month retreats under Lama Norlha Rinpoche.
Lama Karma graduated from Columbia University with degrees in Literature & Religious Studies & brings nearly ten years of experience to students seeking to study the practices of the Tibetan Buddhist path, tailored to the Western mind & idiom. He is the resident teacher at Milarepa Retreat Center in Happy Valley, TN.
