Heart Sutra Weekend

Learn about the Heart Sutra

The Heart Sutra is one of the most well-known classics in Buddhism. Taught by Avalokiteshvara (the bodhisattva of great compassion) to Shariputra (chief in intelligence among the disciples of the historical Buddha), this sutra is the “heart-essence” of the Perfection of Wisdom.

Dr. Lye offers a weekend of sustained engagement with the core topics covered in the Heart Sutra such as the relationship between emptiness and form, wisdom and compassion, and how these doctrinal points relate to “being in the world.”

This weekend retreat will cover the stages of practicing the Three Vehicles in relation to this sutra.
